Undermanned KUA Falls to Cardigan Mountain

In a game where both teams were without their leading scorer, Cardigan Mountain used several runs to secure a 65-40 victory.  With Eli Jaynes playing varsity for the remainder of the year, the Wildcats will have to spread the wealth offensively and not rely solely on their second-leading scorer and point guard, captain Noah Spaulding.  KUA kept it close throughout the first half thanks to eight first-half points from Spaulding and clutch three-point field goals from Caleb Nadell and Owen Xu whose baskets cut the Cardigan Mountain lead to six heading into halftime.  Unfortunately, the 'Cats were unable to go on any sustained runs in the second frame and Cardigan pulled away.  KUA received strong performances from Spaulding (10 points), senior captain Dan Salem (6 points), Jack Bolg (4 points), and Will Haynes (5 points).  Simon Pelzman (2 points), Charlie Creelman (3 points), Hill Carter (2 points), Kelvin Zhang (2 points), as well as the aforementioned Nadell and Xu, also scored.
