Road woes continue

The KUA-Cardigan match-up is always competitive, and the Wildcats won the first contest in December in overtime. The first sign that this was not to be today came 3 minutes into the game when Cardigan defied the laws of Geometry with a goal scored off a shot taken from behind the goal line. They scored two more to go up 3 – 0 after one period. The Wildcats regrouped in the locker room, came out, and gave up another goal 57 seconds into the second period. Liam McKewan scored an unassisted goal and Connor Chalmers scored on a blast from the blue line to narrow the score to 4 – 2, but that was the end. The Cougars scored three goals in the final two minutes of the second period and the game was essentially over. Tyler Wenning came in to play in the goal for the third period and made several big saves to prevent Cardigan from scoring again, but the Wildcats were held scoreless as well, and the game ended at 7 – 2. The Wildcats look to break out of their slump next Wednesday against Lakes Region opponent Proctor Academy before rematches against Tilton and Exeter at the end of the week,
