KUA Nets Win Against New Hampton

Arlo Merritt, Teddy Griffin, and Tomas Mazura each had a goal and an assist while Veeti Kohvakka made 27 saves to help propel the Kimball Union Wildcats past the New Hampton Huskies on Saturday in Meriden. The Wildcats jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first when Sullivan Mack scored his team leading 21st goal of the year, with Mazura earning the assist. Minutes later, Mazura capitalized on the powerplay with assists going to Griffin and Brian Carrabes. The score stayed 2-0 until the third when Griffin, off assists from Merritt and Drew Bennett, scored on a breakaway to give the Wildcats a three-goal cushion. New Hampton got one goal back but Merritt iced the game with an empty-netter, assisted by Bennett, before New Hampton scored once more late in the game.
