Steady progress through the week

The Wildcats started 2019 with three tough games over a period of four days and found themselves consistently having to play from behind. The visitors from Exeter scored two early goals on Saturday, but Griffin Hatley scored late in the first period to narrow the score. Jeremy Sigl scored in the first shift after the ice make to tie things up, but Exeter scored early in the third to go ahead again. Both teams were pushing, but Liam McKewan scored his first goal of the season to tie the game with six minutes remaining. Jeremy Sigl assisted Liam's goal, and two shifts later Liam and Jeremy worked the puck through the offensive zone and passed to Cam Tucker who scored to put KUA ahead for the first time. KUA was assessed a late penalty and Exeter pulled their goalie for an extra skater to set up a dramatic six on four battle for the final minute, but the game ended at KUA 4 – Exeter 3. The two teams will see each other again at Exeter in mid-February
