KUA loses to Stanstead College

The Wildcats played even with visiting Stanstead College for the first half of the game, but then simply ran out of energy. Stanstead scored on the very first shift, but KUA answered with goals from Alex Hone and Cam Tucker to lead 2 - 1 after one period. Stanstead evened things up, and the teams went into the mid-period ice make tied at two. Stanstead came out flying, scoring two goals in the opening minute of the second half, and the Wildcats never regained the momentum. Alex Hone scored a nice goal on a shot from the blueline to bring the Wildcats back within one, but Stanstead scored again on a bizarre caroom off a KUA defenseman and then got one more to end the game ahead 6 – 3. There were certainly some bright spots, but all in all, not a satisfying start to 2019. The team has two more opportunities this week, though, with games against Lower Canada College and Exeter.
