Mack's Hat-trick Powers KUA Past VA

Sullivan Mack had three goals and assist and linemate Tomas Mazura had a goal and three assists to help lead the Kimball Union Wildcats to a 7-0 victory over Vermont Academy on Wednesday in Meriden. Mack opened the scoring three minutes into the game when he scored on a rebound and Paul Dore extended the lead to 2-0 when Seth Stadheim forced a turnover and found Dore in front, who beat the Vermont goalie with a nice deke. In the second, KUA kept pressing as Mack sandwiched two more goals around an impressive goal by Mazura, who batted a rebound out of mid-air and into the net. With a 5-0 heading into the third, KUA continued to apply the pressure as Brian Carrabes and Donte Pierre scored to round out the action. Goalies Zach Paputsakis (18 saves) and Jonah Silverman (5 saves) combined for the shutout.
