KUA Heads into Holiday Vacation with Victory

Following a tough one point loss to St. Paul's on Wednesday, KUA rebounded to turn in their most complete game of of the year in a 73-65 win against a talented Cardigan Mountain squad.  Though senior captain Eli Jaynes carried the team with 29 points, 20 in the first half, the Wildcats also received strong performances from Kelvin Zhang (10 points), Will Haynes (6 points), Simon Pelzman (6 points), Charlie Creelman (6 points), Dan Salem (4 points).  All four players registered their finest outputs of the season and shined on both ends of the floor.  KUA received contributions from Roger Liu (2 points), Caleb Nadell, Jack Bolg, and Noah Spaulding, who arrived at halftime and nailed a crucial  three point field goal midway through the second half that extended the KUA lead back to double digits.  The standout performers of the game, however, were Jaynes and sophomore Hill Carter who scored 6 points and controlled the backboards with Jaynes.

Everything that went wrong on Wednesday afternoon went right on Friday.   KUA converted their free throws (13 of 19), rebounded better, scored from the paint, competed for loose balls, and even ran some plays flawlessly.  Jaynes, too, recovered from a poor outing to lead the team in scoring.  It was a terrific team victory.  The Wildcats head into the holiday break with a 3-2 record.
