Girls' JV Hoops Drops Hard Fought Opener

KUA's Girls' JV Basketball squad opened its 2018-19 season down Interstate 89 against the Big Red of St. Paul's. The visitors played like it was their first game in the first half, only scoring four points while playing a physical defense that made the home team work hard for every basket. The 'Cats offense came alive in the second half, and while Junior Kate Mackey did most of the scoring, Haley McNamara '20 hit the 'Cats first three of the season from long range to jump start the team. Newcomers Nikki Boboc '20 and Maddy Bridge '21 were steadying forces at guard and by the time the last horn sounded, it was obvious that this year's JV squad was rounding into form and will be in the victory column very soon. Their next game will be their first home game on Saturday against the Hornets of Proctor Academy at 3:30.
