Third Period Goals Lift Tilton Over KUA

Tilton School used great goaltending and physical play to top the Kimball Union Wildcats 2-1 in Lake Region play on Saturday in Meriden. After a scoreless first period, Lyme’s Seth Stadheim intercepted a Tilton clearing pass and buried a wrist shot past the goalie to give KUA a 1-0 lead, which it held into the third period. But two quick goals from Tilton at the beginning of the third gave the visitors a lead they would not relinquish. Veeti Kohvakka was the hard-luck loser in net, making 26 saves and keeping KUA within striking distance.
