Wow!

It was a game of highs and lows as KUA battled against a strong Selwyn House team from Montreal. The Wildcats jumped ahead early with 1st period goals by Griffin Hatley (assisted by Isaac Bliss) and Sean Donoghue, who took a pass from Alex Hone, skated the length of the ice, and fired it past the Selwyn House goalie. Reveling, perhaps too much, in their success, the Wildcats gave up two unanswered goals, before Jeremy Sigl scored from right in front of the net after a great effort from Sean Donoghue to put KUA back ahead at the end of the first period. Jeremy returned the favor in the second with a pinpoint pass to Sean who was camped out at the top of the circle to the left of the goal. He fired it confidently over the goalie’s shoulder, and then Jeremy scored his second of the night to put the Wildcats comfortably ahead. Selwyn House fought back with two quick goals to narrow the score, but were then assessed with a five-minute major penalty with just over six minutes remining. All looked good for the Wildcats until Selwyn House scored a short-handed goal to tie the score at five. Anthony Solt scored off a scrum in front of the Selwyn House net with 57 seconds remaining to put KUA back ahead, and Griffin scored an empty net goal to ice the win. This was a hard fought physical game with tempers stretched thin on both sides, but the Wildcats kept their composure when things went wrong and emerged with the win.
