Jeremy Sigl earns a hat trick

The Wildcats faced off against St Paul’s School in Meriden on Saturday – their second game in less than 24 hours. It was a fast-paced physical game, but one with only a few total penalties called. St Paul’s was called for one of those early on – they were able to kill it off, but then Jeremy Sigl scored thirty seconds after the penalty expired to put KUA up 1 – 0. The rest of the time before the ice make saw a variety of great plays, including powerful shots from the blueline by Hayes Huwiler, laser precision passes by Alex Hone, dramatic rushes by Cam Tucker, and consistently strong forechecking by all of the forwards, but mid-way through the game the score was still 1 – 0. Jeremy Sigl scored his second of the game shortly after play resumed (with assists on both goals coming from Sean Donoghue), and then changed things up by scoring again two minutes later but with the assist this time coming from Cole Gueldenzoph. Isaac Bliss scored early in the third, with assists from Donte Pierre and Andrew Hadlock, to put the Wildcats up 4 – 0. St. Paul’s then put one by Jack Isabelle, who played well all afternoon, but Donte Pierre knocked one up over the St. Pauls’ goalie’s shoulder and the game ended at 5 – 1. Two strong outings to start the season, but the pace doesn’t let up as the team will play three games in the next week – all at home.
