KUA and New Hampton tie for the second time this season

The Wildcats finally played a game in bright sunshine, but the day ended in yet another tie. There was a steady 10-12 knot breeze through the first half, with gusts up to 20, blowing directly into the KUA goal and so the New Hampton Huskies spent much of the half in the KUA end of the field. The defense held strong and Max van Dijk confidently handled several long shots. The Wildcats had several quick rushes up the field and were able to score first on a perfect serve through the box from Nuri Lesbec that Josh Wang jumped up and headed into the upper corner. The Huskies tied things up on a penalty kick late in the half, but the Wildcats were confident that both the wind and good fortune would be at their backs through the second half. The wind continued to blow, the Wildcats created three different spectacular scoring chances, and the KUA goalkeeper had very little to do during the final 40 minutes, but the whistle blew to end the game with the two teams knotted at 1 – 1. All 23 players on the roster saw significant playing time today, and they gave it their all.
