KUA loses narrowly at home

In the opening minute New Hampton could have taken the lead if it weren’t for a fine reaction save from Anthony Fresolone. The first half saw a lot of open play with end to end soccer. There were several chances for both teams but it wasn't until the 40th minute that KUA scored to break the deadlock.  Jakob Hyjek played Sean Donughue through on goal who was then brought down in the area. Sean stepped up and fired into the right corner. Immediately after the restart New Hampton equalized after an unfortunate collision at the back gifted the visitors the chance.

12 minutes into the second half we retook the lead. Tyler Wenning played a high ball into the box, with Xavier challenging the goalkeeper in the air the keeper missed and the ball bounced around and Mario Sanchez fired it in. The game was very nervy after this. New Hampton put us under a lot of pressure. Tyler Winning had a goal-line clearance to keep our lead and Anthony Fresolone was called into action on several occasions. 26 minutes into the second half New hampton were given a soft penalty that they then missed. Unfortunately they were given another penalty with only a couple of minutes remaining that they scored. With only a few minutes remaining KUA pushed forward and made a number of good chances. With out desire to win we took some risks that left us exposed to a counter attack. New Hampton got a breakaway goal in the final minute to steal the win.

Our next match is at home against Exeter this Saturday at 2:30pm.
