Halloween Win!

The team traveled to New Hampton on this All Hallows’ Eve with a goal to beat the Huskies, having fallen just short of this at our first game of the season. KUA left with one broken finger, one shut out by goalie Amelia Keith (4 saves), and one 1-0 win! Kelly Benson, assisted by Hannah Wiczek, scored early in the first half with a drive to the bottom left of the goal, which put KUA in a positive position to play out the rest of the game. Though KUA did not find the back of net for the rest of the game, Benson had 5 shots and Wiczek added another shot to the tally. Wiczek was supporting her teammates all over the field for the duration of the game, aiding the defense (Sun, Boden, Verde, Maseng and Lambert), fellow midfielders(Clarke Xu) and attack members (Ayers, Kahl and Benson) to keep the ball moving. KUA did an excellent job passing, working together as a team, hustling, and navigating around the huskies. At one point, KUA was able move the ball from our defensive danger zone up to our offensive circle by switching fields, facilitated by Kahl, Sun and Ayers. KUA is excited to take on Holderness this Saturday.
