JV Girls Ties Hanover Marauders 1-1

The Wildcats hosted the Hanover Marauders on Friday October 18th down on Brewster Field. KUA got off to a strong start, with excellent crosses into the penalty box by Molly Beaupre and Sofia Garner. KUA dominated the first half, with several possible scoring opportunities under the offensive duo of strikers Maddy Haynes and Caroline Sheehan. Hanover scored first, but KUA answered with a tieing goal in the latter stages of the first half.

During the second half, Winsome Neville single-handedly maneuvered through the entire offense and midfield before encountering the Marauders’ defense. Jenna Santos had a strong showing in net, with at least seven saves. In the second half, Santos switched roles, playing as a striker, while Indigo Kopp lept into the goalie role. Margot Frost had a key save in the second half, nimbly drawing the ball out of the scrum in front of the KUA net, and preventing Hanover from running away with a 2-1 lead.

In the end, the match resulted in a draw. The KUA JV Girls team next played its following Family Weekend match on Saturday 10/20 against Proctor Academy.
