Wildcats tie the Bobcats after an epic shooting streak

The Wildcats traveled up to Brewster Academy to play a tough match-up against the Bobcats. With a two-hour drive in addition to the October heat wave, the girls knew they had to work hard to stay on top of their game. During the very first minute of the game, Junior Catie Flynn received the ball from Junior defender Kate Mackey to send a beautiful cross to Junior Maddy Haynes who fired one in to put the Wildcats up 1-0. As the first half continued, there were wonderful strings of passes but the ball did not connect with the back of the net. Sophomore Jenna Santos had 3 saves as our first half goalie. Oddly enough, Brewster scored their only goal of the game in the first minute of the second half. Freshman goalie Indigo Kopp was very aggressive towards the ball and also notched 3 saves. The defense for KUA held Brewster’s very fast pace offense to 1 goal. The game went back and forth, ultimately ending 1-1. The Wildcats look forward to competing next Wednesday at 4:00pm against Philips Exeter Academy.
