KUA earns a draw away at NMH

After going 1-0 down, KUA gets it back to 1-1 and manages to hang on for a hard fought draw.
This was a very competitive match against a skilled and organized team. In the opening minutes Anthony was called into action and tipped a hard shot over the bar with one hand, a fine save. It was only 15 minutes into the match when NMH pressure resulted in a free kick just outside the box to the right. The shot was deflected off the wall sending Anthony the wrong way and the ball into the back of the net. The team showed amazing grit and teamwork to get an equalizer only a few minutes later. A wonderful team breakaway goal that began from Carlos deep in our half played into Jacob Wennik who fed the ball to Sean on the left who finished low to the right of the keeper.

We survived a penalty scare late in the game, NMH scored but were penalized for having players in the box when the penalty was taken. Special mention should be made to defensive unit of Kai at left back, Jeremy and Jonah at center back, and Tyler/ Yuki playing at right back. This was a difficult game. We were pressed back for a lot of it and we managed to hang on for a hard fought draw. The team stopped for a well-deserved Wendy’s on the way back.

We travel to Tilton on Saturday.
