Wildcats beat the Marauders

The Wildcats traveled to Norwich to compete in their first game against the Hanover Marauders on Wednesday afternoon. After a slow start, KUA Girls' JV Soccer started to click and move the ball down the field. Junior Maddy Haynes started the scoring with three goals in the first half. One of the goals was assisted by sophomore Ellie Stadina. Sophomore Jenna Santos started as goalie in the first half and had three big saves. The Wildcats continued their momentum in the second half by scoring two goals in the first five minutes. The first goal was off of a rebound. Freshman, Caroline Sheehan charged the net and quickly got a shot off to get her first KUA goal. Freshman, Lily Wennik shortly after scored a goal making the score 5-1. Hanover came back scoring three goals in a row, one from a penalty kick, making the score 5-4. Haynes finished with one more goal before the end of the game. Freshman Indigo Kopp defended KUA's net for the second half making two huge saves. The final score was 6-4. The Wildcats look forward to hosting the Brewster Bobcats at their home opener on Saturday at 4:00pm.
