Jeffrey L. Hackett

Jeffrey L. Hackett, 67, of Hollis, NH, passed away on June 20 at the Leahy Hospital in Burlington, MA. He had lived for many years with the increasing effects of post-pulmonary hypertension. Jeffrey was the son of Robert, now deceased, and Dorothy Hackett. He lived in Wellesley, MA until the age of 11, when his family moved to Hollis, NH. Robert bought Buttonwood Farm and became a dairy farmer. The family all lived just a few houses away, and so the children spent many hours with the cows and calves.

After graduating from Kimball Union Academy in 1969 he attended Ithaca College for a short period, and then worked at several different jobs, the last of which was with his Father, managing Buttonwood Farm, and reconnecting with the cows he loved so much.

He was an avid reader and a self-taught artist and was devoted to his dog, Petey. Jeff leaves his Mother, Dorothy, his sisters, Carolyn and Cindy, his brother and wife, Charlie and Laura, and their children and grandchildren, and close friends Elaine Bouchard and Drew Simpson.
