William A. P. Woods

Bill was born in New York City on August 1, 1928 to Mary Phillips Woods and Robert J. Woods. He and his older brother Robert J. Woods Jr. grew up in Pelham Manor, New York. Bill graduated from Kimball Union Academy, Meriden, New Hampshire and attended New York University (NYU) before serving in the army at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.

He married Josephine MacManus in Pelham Manor, New York in 1953, and worked for JC Penney Company in New York, Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona, El Cajon, Oakland and Pleasant Hill, California before moving to Rancho Palos Verdes in 1968 with his wife and children, Mary Jo, Woody, John and Robby.

Bill enjoyed sports, played ice hockey and loved to sail. He refereed AYSO soccer games and served as president of the Peninsula Pony League. He was Vice President of Fulmer Company and later formed Rincon del Mar, Inc. that manufactured sportswear sold internationally and in the US, including the LA County Lifeguard uniforms.
