Calls didn't go our way

After traveling to the Boston area and getting ready to compete, the team came out and played hard. It was a tough physical game that was played by both teams. KUA battled hard an had some great chances that they were not able to capitalize on. Ariana Ftorek had some crosses that couldn't be finished on the back post. Mallory Clark had some shots that were stopped by the Dexter Goalie. The defense, lead by Michaela Cokinos held strong and Stella Kozak did all that she could to keep the ball out of her net. With the midfield working har to facilitate the ball and defend, KUA and Dexter went into the half scoreless.
After another hard fought quarter, with chances for both teams, an unfortunate bounce altered that path of the ball, and Dexter capitalized for a 1-0 lead. KUA tried to get the momentum on their side, but to no avail, Dexter scored another goal, then followed it up just over a minute later to take a 3-0 lead. A timeout by coach Whittemore settled the players down and got them ready to work an a comeback. The 'Cats played well, worked hard got some chances but in the end fell short. There was no quit on the field, and as has been the case, they stayed unified in defeat.
There are brighter days ahead as the 'Cats will take on Proctor Wednesday at home.
