Wildcats Competed Hard, Huskies too Much

Coach Van Dolah
KUA was up 5-1 after 2.5 innings and New Hampton's 8-Run response in the bottom of the third proved the difference as the Wildcats' bats were good but their pitching and defense were not good enough.
KUA opened up scoring in the first inning, when Revy Mack singled on a 1-1 count, scoring AJ Noel. In the bottom of the first inning, New Hampton School tied things up at one. The Wildcats scored four runs in the top of the fourth on a Thomas Pichette single, Brendan Walker walk, wild pitch (Pichette scored), a Jon Bruner RBI single (scored Lucas Constantine - pinch runner), and a Silas Nowlan homerun.

New Hampton School answered with eight runs of their own the next half inning to take the 9-5 lead. KUA responded with three runs in the top of the fourth on four walks, a Mack RBI single to score Ray Thurston, and a NHS wild pitch and a passed ball to score Noel and Pichette to close the deficit to one at 9-8.
New Hampton School pulled away for good with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Silas Nowlan pitched the final two innings of scoreless relief.
