KUA battles back to beat New Hampton

The Wildcats opened the 2021 season with a visit from the New Hampton Huskies. KUA controlled possession early, but strong goaltending from New Hampton kept the score tied at 0-0 after the first quarter. KUA senior goalie Kobi Lees put on a show of his own backed by the strong defensive play of Henry DeTolla, Jack Bolg, Matt Sites, and Anthony Fresolone, holding the Huskies scoreless in the first half. Senior attackman Charlie Baughman scored with 3:17 remaining in the 2Q to put KUA up 1-0 heading into the half.

New Hampton owned the 3Q scoring for goals capitalizing on two KUA penalities. New Hampton's goalie continued to make every save forcing KUA into a 4-1 hole heading into the 4Q. While KUA's defense continued to hold, KUA chipped away at the NHS lead. Colter Linglebach-Pierce tallied with :75 seconds into the quarter. Baughman scored his second with 6:18 remaining.  Baughman found Jack Isabelle for a man-up goal to tie the game at 4-4 with 4:15 to play. Tied at 4-4 and the shot clock waiting, Jack Isabelle hit a streaking Benson Offit for the game-winner with :28 seconds to play, completing the comeback!

KUA faces New Hampton again tomorrow at 3p on the road.
