Wildcats earn two wins

After struggling to put the puck in the net in two games against Tilton, the Wildcats came alive against New Hampton, with eleven different players finding the back of the net in a 24-hour period. Tyler Wenning was outstanding in the KUA net on Friday as the Wildcat’s coasted to a 9 – 2 win, capitalizing on five powerplay opportunities. On Saturday, Trey Masson started in the net and played well, while, as a result of a scuffle in the first period, the lone New Hampton goalie was ejected and KUA’s Weston Harkey agreed to play in the net for the Huskies. Weston made some impressive saves, and his willingness to step up and play for the other side allowed both teams to finish the game. Isaac Bliss lead all players with 5 points (2,3); Kobi Lees had 4 points (1,3) and some huge hits; Owen Lewis and Jon Bruner each had a goal and two assists; AJ Noel, Gabe Laszewski, and Evan Oberton each had two points; Cole Gueldenzoph, Michael Gratz, and Ray Thurston each had a goal; and Luke Clarner, who helped to anchor the defense, had one assist. The Wildcats will face off next weekend against Proctor.
