Offense Powers KUA to Victory

Senior co-captain Liam Walsh (2 G, 1 A) and junior Jaiden Moriello (2 G, 1 A) each had two goals as the Wildcats scored a convincing 8-3 win over the New Hampton Huskies on Friday in Meriden. KUA opened the scoring when freshman Kyle Murray-Smith scored his first as a Wildcat just three minutes into the game, burying the rebound from a purposeful shot from senior Anthony Solt. Just a minute later, Moriello doubled the lead by collecting his own rebound tapping the puck past the New Hampton netminder. The second period saw the Wildcats explode for four goals, one each from Moriello, senior Sean Donoghue, junior Matthew Maltais, and senior Thomas Pichette (1 G, 2 A). In the third, Walsh added his two goals, sandwiched between all three of New Hampton's goals. Senior defensemen Nick Bernardo and Lucas Constantine each had three assists while goalies Charlie Schenkel and Colby Boyce combined to make 22 saves in net for the Wildcats.
