Wildcats Complete Weekend Sweep

Twenty-four hours after scoring the overtime winner, junior Jaiden Moriello scored a hat-trick to help lead the Wildcats to their second win of the weekend over Tilton. For the second game in a row, senior Sean Donoghue got KUA on the board, once again finishing a nice passing play from classmate Grant Eastwood. Tilton knotted the game later in the first and took a 2-1 lead in the second, but Moriello's first of the game tied the contest just thirty seconds later. Entering the third period tied, the Wildcats broke the game open with two goals in the first minute of the period. Junior Matthew Maltais scored his first goal as a Wildcat and Moriello followed with his second of the game on the next shift. Tilton pulled within one, but junior defenseman Adam Cardona wristed a laser into the top corner on the powerplay to put KUA back up by two. A relentless Tilton squad kept pressing, however, and made it 5-4 before Moriello scored his third of the game late in the third. Junior defenseman Conner Chalmers sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minutes. Senior captain Liam Walsh and junior Will Blackburn both finished with three assists while sophomore goalie Colby Boyce made 24 saves in the win.
