The Wildcats Win Senior Game

The Wildcats were excited to play on their home turf again on this beautiful, warm November day. They started strong, dominating play and looking to the net for shots. While the team earned several corners in the first half, they were not able to score. The defense, consisting of senior captain Nathaly Tlaseca Verde, Vlada Voznesenskaia, Sarah Krause, and senior Lola Kuczynska, kept the Holderness Bulls at bay, not even entering the circle during the first 25 minutes.
In the second half, the offense began to create more opportunities to score. Just 2 minutes into the second half, junior Sophie Coelho scored off a pass from Sarah Krause at the top of the circle. Then, Katie Ayers scored off of her rebound! Keeping their sticks down in the circle created more opportunities for multiple shots and earned corners. Coehlo scored the third and fourth goals, each lifted past the goalie. Coach Macomber removed his hat in celebration.
Paige Gamble, Sage Goodwin, and Lea Castell played a smart offensive game on the front line. They looked to support the ball and created give and go opportunities. The midfield played a phenomenal game supporting the ball and redefending to keep the ball on the offensive side; Michaela Cokinoa, Analena Connors, and Naomi Mervo-Kovacs all played skillfully in that position.

The team played with incredible spirit, through injury and heat to beat the Bulls. The Wildcats won the game 4-1, earning 10 corners overall. Amelia Keith earned 4 saves in net. The Wildcats play their final game next Saturday against the Brewster Bobcats. We will miss our seniors next year for their fun, energy, dedication, and leadership. Thank you, Lola Kuczynska, Amelia Keith, and Nathaly Tlaseca Verde.
