The Wildcats Play Hard in Home Opener

The KUA jv field hockey team hosted the St. Paul's Pelicans this past Saturday. The game was intense as soon as the first whistle blew. The Pelicans dominated play by bringing the ball down the right side of the field. Luckily, the Wildcats had a strong left side including Paige Gamble, Sophie Coehlo, Vlada Voznesenskaia,
and Nathaly Tlaseca-Verde keeping the ball out of the circle. The Wildcats worked hard to create scoring opportunities. Coehlo, Michaela Cokinos, Naomi Mervo-Kovacs, Lola Kuczynska, and Sage Goodwin played excellent midfield supporting the ball up the field and redefended to keep play in our offensive zone. In the fourth quarter, the Wildcats had several scoring opportunities. They earned 4 corners and they had many shots. Unfortunately, the Pelicans scored three goals throughout the game but the Wildcats could not find the back of the net. Amelia Keith had 4 saves in net.

The Wildcats host the Holderness Bulls on November 7.
