Wildcats Rally for OT Win

Sullivan Mack scored four goals, including the game-winner 34 seconds into overtime, as the Wildcats rallied from two goals down in the third period to score a road win at New Hampton on Saturday. Mack and fellow senior Andrew Noel both scored powerplay goals in the first period, but New Hampton answered with two goals of its own to head into the second tied. In the second, the New Hampton powerplay went to work, scoring twice more before senior Donte Pierre countered for the Wildcats. A New Hampton goal late in the period gave the hosts a 5-3 lead heading into the third. Mack tallied twice in the first four minutes of the third to tie the game, but a New Hampton goal with six minutes left put the game in jeopardy for KUA. But with the goalie pulled for the extra attacker, KUA senior Tomas Mazura (1 G, 3 A) scored with a minute left to send the game into overtime, where he set up Mack’s winner. Senior goalie Veeti Kohvakka stopped 17 of 20 shots in relief for the win while seniors Teddy Griffin and Zach Whitehead, along with junior Luca Fantilli and sophomore Adam Fantilli, each tallied two assists.
