Wildcats Win on Road at Exeter

Senior Paul Dore scored two goals and junior Zak Brice made 25 saves as the Wildcats scored a 4-1 win over Phillips Exeter on Wednesday in Exeter. After a scoreless first period that saw the Wildcats hit three posts, Exeter took the lead five minutes into the second, scoring off an offensive faceoff. However, the senior line of Tomas Mazura (1G, 1A), Sullivan Mack (1G, 2A), and Zach Whitehead (2A) connected just twenty seconds later with Mack feeding Mazura on a two-on-one. The KUA co-captain made no mistake, firing the puck past the Exeter goalie’s glove to tie the game. Minutes later, Dore, on assists from sophomore Adam Fantilli and junior Liam Walsh, cashed in from the doorstep to give KUA a lead it would not relinquish. Dore scored his second of the game late in the second on the powerplay, converting an excellent seam pass from Mazura. Brice shut the door in the third for the Wildcats and Mack scored a shorthanded, empty-net goal with a minute to play. Whitehead and senior Andrew Noel earned assists.
