Wildcats Blank St. Paul's

Junior goalie Zak Brice made 33 saves and KUA got breakaway goals from sophomore Griffin Hatley and senior Zach Whitehead to earn a 2-0 win at St. Paul’s on Saturday. After a scoreless first, thanks in large part to 15 saves from Brice, the Wildcats hit the board early in the second when Hatley collected a stretch pass from senior Tomas Mazura and found himself in alone before beating the St. Paul’s goalie with a backhand deke. Senior Teddy Griffin also earned an assist on the play. Late in the second, on a similar play, Whitehead took a pass from senior Sullivan Mack and broke free for a breakaway from the blueline in. Whitehead went to the backhand as well to give KUA a 2-0 lead. Mazura earned his second assist of the game on the play. St. Paul’s pressed in the third, but crucial saves from Brice and strong team defense kept the home team off the board.
