Team Effort Topples Brewster
Several players had multiple-point nights and junior goalie Zak Brice made 21 saves to lead the Wildcats past Brewster Academy on Friday night in Meriden. After falling behind 1-0, the Wildcats scored four times in the first period to take control. Senior Paul Dore (2G) cashed in on the powerplay and sophomore Adam Fantilli (1G, 2A) potted a second KUA goal minutes later. Senior Andrew Noel (1G, 1A) scored the eventual game-winner when he converted a pass from classmate Tomas Mazura (3A) while fellow senior Zach Whitehead (1G) scored with 0.5 seconds left in the period to give the hosts a 4-1 lead after one period. Brewster netted the first goal of the second period but KUA senior Donte Pierre (1G) one-timed a pass from classmate Carson Moe (1A) to restore the three-goal lead. In the third, Dore scored his second of the game and Luca Fantilli (1G, 1A) went top shelf off a feed from Mazura to round out the scoring. Sullivan Mack added four assists for the Wildcats.
