Arts at Kimball Union
Kimball Union believes that the Arts are best experienced by doing, and that it is our job to support the student’s artistic goals and dreams with our programs, our facilities, and our time. We try to offer as many opportunities as possible not only to learn about creative work and technique, but to apply skills and ideas to real creative problems. Thus we find:
• The vast majority of dances in our dance recitals to be student choreographed
• A student directed, student produced, and frequently student written one-act festival
• Musical performances with songs and arrangements often chosen or created by students
• Students designing an eco classroom for the school

We in the Arts faculty want to share artistic adventures with you, rather than control your experiences. And we want you to DO the work, not primarily study it in the abstract. Yes, there is a place for the development of technique and artistic understanding, and it is in the service of creation, which we firmly believe you should already be undertaking.
