    • The Best Environment for Learning
With positive support and challenge, KUA students acquire a depth of knowledge and mastery that allows them to become leaders in the conversations, research, and communities large and small in ways that truly matter. What's the first step? Visit!
Welcome!
I'm thrilled you are considering Kimball Union Academy. I'm a graduate of KUA and know firsthand the ways this school and learning community can change your life. You'll find engaging peers and faculty, innovative academic, arts, and athletic programs, and a variety of opportunities to develop and grow as a person and a leader.
While many schools offer top-notch programs, few are as committed to your personal growth and development as Kimball Union. Because we are a tightly-knit living and learning community, this means that your dorm parents are professional educators who are there to push, lead, and support you, while peers influence one another in positive ways every day. What does that mean for you? The relationships you establish here will last and, through challenge and support, you will be equipped to succeed in whatever communities you join in the future.
Please explore our website to learn more about KUA, and contact me with any questions. We hope you find KUA to be just the right fit. Our hilltop home is the best environment for learning!

List of 5 items.

  • Do you offer scholarships?

Yes! As an applicant, you are automatically considered for one of our merit scholarships. Awards range from $5,000-$15,000 and are based on your academic profile. Additional financial aid is also available based on demonstrated need.

In addition, we have a new Academy Scholarship, which recognizes 9th and 10th grade applicants who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. Academy Scholars typically place above the 80th percentile in SSAT testing. Each year we grant up to five $20,000 awards. Additional application is required for consideration.
  • What is the interview like? What should I wear?

The interview is like an extended conversation. Each admission officer is kind, thoughtful, and patient. We want to hear all about the real you, not just what we can read in an application. Tell us all about your passions, your interests, and what makes you tick.

While we want you to be comfortable in the interview, we suggest following our dress code (you can find that online while learning more about us!). So, no jeans or sweatpants. Leave your cell phone in the car, too!
  • What leagues do your athletic teams compete in?

Our athletic teams compete in the New England Preparatory Athletic Council (NEPSAC), which means we play schools throughout New England, New York, and Canada. In addition, we are a member of the Lakes Region Conference, which includes teams throughout New Hampshire and Vermont.

Our varsity teams are perennial favorites in post-season tournaments, and often play other nationally ranked teams from around the country.
  • What Should I Know About Visiting?

Visiting campus is the best way to see if we are a fit for you! With about 2 hours, you'll have time for a campus tour and interview, for both student and parents. If you are interested in observing a class or meeting a teacher, coach, or activity director, please let us know at the time you schedule your appointment and we’ll make sure it happens.
  • Where do students come from?

Kimball Union students come from 22 states and 29 countries. Our school is committed to diversity in all its many forms. We represent a global population, while also drawing heavily from the northeast.
