Students Recognized in 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program

Academic Dean Tom Kardel announced that five Kimball Union students have been named Commended Students in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program during All School Meeting on October 26.

Jacob Greenfield ’21, Yixuan “Emily” Li ’21, Tianyi “Roger” Liu, Marian Zens ’21, and Jingbang Zhu ’21, were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2021 competition by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
 
“We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success,” said Kardel.
