First Lakes Region loss

As a result of a late schedule change, KUA had a great opportunity to play against the Tilton Varsity B team. KUA looked tight in the first period, and Tilton was able to ricochet one goal past Pat Salkind. Tilton scored again early in the second, but KUA came alive and had several good scoring opportunities. Tilton scored again to take a 3 - 0 lead, but Charles Baldwin scored on a breakaway mid-way through the third period and KUA started pressing. Tilton was assessed a penalty for interference with just over two minutes left, and KUA pulled their goaltender for a 6 - 4 on-ice advantage. KUA had some great opportunities, but Tilton had some chances at the open net in the KUA end as well, and Tyler Bicknell made one diving save to knock the puck up and over the KUA net. Both teams were assessed matching penalties in the final minute and so KUA elected to finish the game with five skaters and no goalie against Tilton’s four skaters. Despite several strong shots, KUA was unable to get a second goal and Tilton put one into the open net with 4 seconds remaining in the game to win 4 - 1.  The team’s Lakes Region record now stands at 7 - 1 with two league games left to play.
