Northwood Hands KUA First Loss

In the first game of the True Prep Cup in Salem, NH, Northwood School of Lake Placid scored a 5-3 win over the previously undefeated Wildcats on Friday. Northwood jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second period before Will Blackburn batted a Matthew Mailtais pass out of the air and into the net to make the score 2-1 after two. In the third, Northwood restored a two-goal lead before Jaiden Moriello and Maltais each scored to knot the game at three with ten minutes to play. However, Northwood capitalized on a couple of bounces just minutes later and took the 5-3 lead, which held to the end. KUA faces St. Andrew's College on Saturday in Salem.
