Girls' Varsity Basketball and Boys' Varsity Hockey standouts earn Athlete of the Week Honors
Cindy Roseen '07 was instrumental in both of last week's girls' varsity basketball victories. Against Class A Northfield Mount Hermon, Roseen pulled down 14 rebounds to go along with 15 points in a 60-27 win. On Saturday, Cindy came up huge in the waning moments of the Cushing game drawing an offensive charge on Cushing's leading scorer to shift the momentum in KUA's favor. She then went on to finish a 3-point play and hit the next field goal to bring the Wildcats to within 1 point. She also had a huge steal with 55 seconds left to protect KUA's thin 3 point lead. KUA went on to win the game by a score of 53-45 against a talented Class B tournament-bound team. Roseen added 18 points bringing her KUA career total to 949 points, just 51 points shy of 1000. She is also closing in on 1,000 career rebounds with 920. This week’s female athlete of the week is Cindy Roseen
In the past week Boys’ Varsity Hockey has played three games. Evan Roberts '07 had two goals and two assists in those games. More importantly it is his competitive fire and desire to always give his best that often allows him to stand out on the ice. Evan plays the game hard and with a fire that opposing coaches often mention at the end of the game as a kid their team hates to play against because he plays every shift like it is his last, he hits like a freight train and is ultra competitive. This week’s male athlete of the week is Evan Roberts.
