Katherine Bello
Omari Mobley, Varsity Football; Halle Dyer, Outing Club

Omari Mobley has started every game this year for the Varsity Football Team. He epitomizes the Warrior Athlete at both defensive back and wide receiver. Last week against New Hampton, this young man matched up against their leading receiver, frustrating the Huskie offense throughout the afternoon and finishing the day with three interceptions, running one back for a touchdown, while leading the awesomeWildcat Defense, which forced six turnovers on the afternoon. On the offensive side of the ball, he finished the day with seven receptions, three of which went for touchdown runs of 55, 40 and 15 yards as well as an impressive two-point conversion. After five games he is leading the Wildcats in pass receptions and punt returns and is the leading scorer with nine touchdowns.

At Kimball Union Academy we value teamwork and comradery and acknowledge that such dynamics can be an important part of any number of our afternoon activities, not exclusively interscholastic athletics. Halle Dyer, has thrown herself with great energy, into the Outing Club this year. For the first couple of weeks she was our only female member. However this did not deter her from getting involved and making her voice heard. She has been consistently up-beat, enthusiastic, and has given her best in all activities. She has been encouraging and positive and has made a conscious effort to reach out to every one in the group, managing to make everyone feel good about themselves, regardless of their contributions, whether it be on a night hike on Mount Cardigan, a canoe trip on the Connecticut River or on hanging in on the climbing wall. A solid ice hockey player in her own right, it is a pleasure to see our students challenge themselves by getting out of their comfort zones, and getting involved in new experiences.
