A KUA win on the road

In their second game in 24 hours, the team traveled to Concord to take on St. Paul’s and gave up three goals in the first ten minutes. It seems quite likely that the mood in the St. Paul’s locker room after the first period was one of confidence and frivolity. On the KUA side, Coach Harris offered some direct and targeted suggestions and both teams returned to the ice. Trey McDougall scored early in the second period to get KUA on the board and then Chris Anderson scored with a quick shot from the blue line. Chase Leone scored two goals in one shift late in the period as KUA took the lead for the first time. Both teams played hard and created some great scoring chances through the third period – Payton Porter made two glove saves that had the St Paul’s players literally shaking their heads – but the game ended at 4 -3. It was an impressive comeback, and one that bodes well for the future.
